One of the many benefits of living in Uruguay is the Montevideo ferias, which are open air markets where you can find a wide assortment of items. From fresh produce, eggs, cheese and meats to clothes, household items, toys, incense and random trinkets, there’s something to interest everyone.
Another great thing about the Montevideo ferias is that you don’t have to pay IVA (the 22% sales tax in Uruguay) on the items you purchase. That can really add up to some good savings. If you haven’t been to a Montevideo feria yet, check one out soon.
